I realize that the Internet holds some wonderful opportunities for me to learn or play. I also understand
there are areas of the Internet that are inappropriate for children. I know I must be aware of these and
will ask my parents to help keep me safe on the Internet. I agree to the following rules:
1. If I see something that I do not understand or makes me uncomfortable I will inform my parents.
2. I will not post personal information about myself or my family members on the Internet as on a profile.
Information such as name, address, telephone numbers, age, school I attend, etc for examples.
3. I will be a good netizen and treat people the way I would like to be treated on the Internet.
4. My password is private and I will not inform anyone of it except my parents.
5. I will have a screen name that does not reveal personal information about myself or my family.
6. I will inform my parents if I am approached by someone online I have met and wants to talk about sex or
asks to meet with me.
7. I understand there are people on the Internet that might pretend to be my friend and my age but they are
older and wish to hurt me.
8. I will not send photos of myself or my family to someone I met on the Internet.
9. I will inform my parents if I receive inappropriate website links, photos, emails or instant messages.
10. I will not fill out online forms that request information about myself or my family without my parents
permission.
11. I will tell my parents if anything bad happens online. They promise not to overreact.
12. I will comply with the rules and guidelines my parents have set down for the computer and Internet use.
13. I will not install, copy or download from the Internet or a disk without permission, and be cautious of viruses.
14. I will not use my parents credit cards without permission.
